Biography
Based in East Yorkshire and working from a studio on the banks of the River Humber, the artist draws deeply on her upbringing in a small farming village. A lifelong connection to the land, shaped by time spent in the North York Moors and along the coastline, continues to inform her practice.

Her work is inspired by the philosophy and aesthetics of nineteenth century Romantic landscape painting. By appropriating its familiar visual language, she invites the viewer into a sense of recognition. On closer inspection, geometric interventions such as golden lines, scarlet T sections and quadrilateral forms subtly disrupt the pastoral scene. These elements create a visual tension that reflects the complexities of contemporary life.

Navigating the space between nostalgia for bucolic ideals and the realities of technological acceleration, climate change and information saturation, her paintings explore states of flux, uncertainty and hope. Spirituality, human emotion, flight paths and invisible networks of communication converge within her landscapes, forming a meditation on presence and connection.

In a rapidly changing and volatile world, the enduring landscape becomes both anchor and witness, offering a space for reflection on what it means to exist here and now.
