A delicate yet striking composition, Echo presents a mirrored cluster of roses suspended against a near-black background. Two golden-yellow blooms face one another, their petals dissolving into soft whites, peaches, and buttery yellows, flecked with magenta. Abstract cutaways disrupt the floral forms, revealing glimpses of negative space, while dark green leaves emerge from the shadows. Playing with depth, the contrast between softly blurred and sharply defined petals adds a dynamic sense of movement.
Inspired by the cyclical nature of life, Echo reflects on time, repetition, and transformation. The mirrored roses suggest a past or future self, caught in an endless cycle of bloom and decay. The work subtly evokes themes of self-reflection, duality, and the ephemeral beauty of nature, drawing from the traditions of Dutch still-life painting.
