Sarah Muirhead at Pontone Gallery
In February 2026, Pontone Gallery will host an in-gallery artist residency with Sarah Muirhead, extending her exhibition: A Ghost Only You Can Name (Pt 2) into a live studio experience. For four days, collectors and visitors will have the rare opportunity to encounter the artist’s practice as it unfolds within the gallery.
During her residency, Sarah Muirhead will work on a series of new drawings within the gallery space. This residency is designed to simulate an artist’s studio environment, allowing visitors to engage directly with the artist, gain insight into her process, and view new works in progress.
For this residency, Muirhead will focus on her graphite drawings - works that sit alongside her paintings as quieter, more contemplative counterpoints. These pieces depict imagined architectures, collapsing structures, and apocalyptic landscapes, expanding the psychological and emotional terrain of A Ghost Only You Can Name. Working in situ, Muirhead invites viewers into the slower rhythms of her practice, where drawing becomes a private ritual, made briefly public.
A limited number of one-to-one appointments with the artist will be available throughout the residency.
