Emil Alzamora

Pontone Gallery presents a portfolio exhibition of four gallery artists, who demonstrate a variety of approaches to contemporary figurative painting and sculpture, both in theme and technique.

Pontone Gallery presents a new collection of work by the artist Emil Alzamora. Born in Peru and educated in the USA, where his practice is based, he has built an impressive international curriculum vitae. Best known for his figurative sculpture, this exhibition also features paintings, a recent development.

Emil Alzamora’s minimalist sculptures represent the human body in its purest form. His figures are often depicted as though captured in a state of suspended animation influenced by both internal and external forces. Anonymous yet identifiable, they symbolize a universal understanding of a connection with the human body in its various manifestations.

After another outstanding year at Art Miami 2018, Pontone Gallery is delighted to present a further opportunity to enjoy works by our artists who achieved such great success there.
In January we will present a Miami to London collection in the gallery and online, including works by Emil Alzamora, Hwang Seontae, Mari Kim, Lee Leenam, Malcolm Liepke, Matteo Massagrande and Jeff Robb.
